Implications for Australia & Risk Management Strategies


Our risk management discussion groups are an informal roundtable exchange of ideas, advice and information for our members, subscribers and non-members. The meetings aim to connect attendees with other practitioners working in their field of interest.

Join us for this session where we will discuss risk reporting to the board, including trends and best practice. Topics covered include enterprise risk management, lines of reporting and how you gather information from the business and report this to the board.

Who should attend?

Company secretaries, governance, risk and compliance professionals. Discussion groups are designed to connect attendees with practitioners within their field of interest or responsibility.

Senator Arthur Sinodinos AO . Ambassador - designate to the USA

Sen Sinodinos is Australia’s one of the most respected politicians and a former public servant who has made a great contribution to making Australia a great country and positioning her for success in the globalised world. He is being sent to the frontline of global politics by the Prime Minister of Australia at a time when the relationship with the superpowers has never been more critical to Australia’s future. Sen Sinodinos is highly respected around the world through his active role with as the Senior Advisor & Chief of Staff of Hon John Howard from 1996 to 2006. His Ministerial portfolio included positions of Assistant Treasurer, Secretary of the Cabinet and also Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science. Before being elected to the Senate at the 2010 federal election, Sen Sinodinos spent periods working for Goldman Sachs and the National Australia Bank. He also served as the President of the Liberal Party State Branch (NSW).

Zia Q Qureshi, Chief Executive Catalyst

Zia Qureshi is an Australian / global business leader with deep expertise in business transformation & turnaround to deliver high sustainable performance. Examples of his work include companies such as Woolworths, Qantas, Crane Group, Origin Energy, MIM Holding, BHP, TransGrid, Commonwealth Bank and Transfield Services. He led, as Chairman, the Australia-China Electricty industry to industry collaboration venture, supported by the Hon John Howard, PM with great success that made a strong contribution to bringing the two countries closer in business relations. He also led a landmark project to develop China’s sourcing strategies to secure the global supply of mineral resources, a project of national importance for China, that generated $100’s of billions of value for China. He has been commended for this work by the Chinese and Australian political leaders. His undertaken work spans business transformation projects for Australian / international leading companies to managing an $8 billion investment portfolio (with further $20 billion allocation) of diversified industries in the MENA region. He regularly advises CEOs, Chairpersons, Ministers & Prime Minsters.
