In June 2018, the Australian Government passed sweeping national security and foreign interference laws in what is Australia’s biggest counter-intelligence overhaul in decades.

The Governance Institute would like to invite you to attend an exclusive briefing: Protecting Your Organisation from Foreign Interference featuring keynote speaker John Garnaut.

John is one of Australia’s pre-eminent international strategy experts, specialising in advising the Australian government and private sector clients on geopolitical risk.

He will be joined by Matt Fehon from McGrathNicol, a forensic accountant with more than 25 years’ experience. It will conclude with an interactive panel session, where you can put your questions to the experts.

This event will unpack how foreign interference can affect your organisation, your compliance obligations under the new legislation, and how to proactively manage risks in your value chain.

Key insights

  • Foreign interference - how it works;
  • Analysing the impact of foreign actors on Australian public and private organisations;
  • Demonstration of real world examples and case studies;
  • Your compliance obligations under the new legislation;
