The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) has launched new guidance to help charities, donors and fundraisers make better use of crowdfunding.

The guidance warns that crowdfunding websites vary widely. They offer different features and requirements and come with a range of terms and conditions, fees, eligibility criteria and other requirements. In addition, fundraising regulations vary across Australian states and territories.

The guidance advises charities to do their homework and sufficiently research any partners they plan to work with.
